Super Bowl XLIV

We were delighted to host a little get together for Super Bowl XLIV last week.  And, by we were delighted, I mostly mean that I was thrilled to have an opportunity to cook way too much food for the number of people we were having over.

Let’s be honest, I show my love for others through piles and piles of unhealthy food and chocolate sheet cake.  (Thanks, PW for the recipe!)

Matt got in on some of the cooking action, too, and whipped up some super-yummy pico de gallo and guacamole to go along with the massive amounts of chips I had brought home from the grocery store.  I’m pretty sure that, just after this photo was taken, he began sobbing at the freshness of all the onion he was chopping that day.

The adults at the party really did sit and watch the whole game.  Can’t say as much for the little girls running around here.  They preferred to pull every toy from the playroom to the TV room and then snuggle up in a butterfly chair to read a book.  Super sweet.  But, next year, we’re going to have to do some football watching prep work before the big day.
